A cited Monday briefing for leadership before the week starts

Every Monday morning the flow reads your board papers and operating reports and writes a short note for leadership, citing every figure. It posts to your leadership channel in Slack before the week starts, leaving out anything the sources cannot support.

Why teams run it

Executives at a fund piece the week together from board packs, operating reports and whatever arrived by email, and the one decision that matters can be buried deep in a pack nobody finished. A briefing written by hand takes a senior person’s Monday morning.

How it is governed

  • Every figure in the briefing must be cited to a source document.
  • It posts without an approval step; add one in the builder if you want review.
  • Testing in the builder describes the Slack post without sending it.
  • Each post and each run is kept in the run history.
Who runs it
Chief executives and COOs; Chief financial officers; Chiefs of staff; Trustee secretaries.
What you supply
Your board papers and operating reports as knowledge sources; Slack connected, to deliver it.
What “a person approves” looks like in the product: the run stops, the banner says what approving will do, and until someone decides, nothing leaves the system. A demo workspace on synthetic data.

From template to a live agent

The same builder, tests and release review apply to a template as to anything built from scratch.

Open it as a working flow
Every step, source, branch and approval is already in place, and every one of them can be changed before it runs on your data.
Prove it before it ships
An evaluation set can gate the release, so a change that breaks an answer never reaches anyone. A question it cannot answer from the sources leaves the gate unproven, not passed.
Keep a person on the decisions
A run that needs a decision stops and says exactly what approving will do, and who it is waiting for.
Publish where people work
A form, an embedded widget, Microsoft Teams or a scheduled batch — with its own access and limits per deployment.
What teams usually change
Add channels to the recipient list, such as a trustee channel; Point retrieval at the board packs and reports that matter most; Move the schedule to suit your leadership meeting.
Step 02, in the product: an evaluation set that gates the release. A question it cannot answer from the sources leaves the gate unproven, not passed. A demo workspace on synthetic data.

Questions buyers ask

How current is the briefing?
It is written from whatever your knowledge sources hold when the Monday run starts, so it is as current as the board papers and operating reports loaded into them. It leaves out anything those sources do not support rather than estimating.
Does anyone review it before it posts?
Not as shipped: the template posts on schedule without an approval step. Teams that want a person to read it first can add an approval before the Slack step in the builder.
Can we try it without posting to leadership?
Yes. When you test it in the builder, the Slack post is described rather than sent, while the retrieval and the writing run for real, so you can read exactly what leadership would receive.
